About Sue
I have been honored to serve on the Victor City Council and the Teton Regional Economic Coalition for the past four years.
I have a deep passion for mountain communities, the outdoor lifestyle, and rural values. I believe in the power of adventure, nature, and travel to transform lives. I have spent 40 years in the international outdoor adventure tourism industry as a skiing, trekking, and rafting guide, lifestyle entrepreneur, business owner, and professional writer.
I am the Executive Director of the Teton Leadership Center. Through my Communications and Marketing Consulting business and Substack, Teton Strong, I strive to inspire others to interact with each other and the environment with greater consciousness and care.
I am the Founding Editor of Teton Family Magazine, Slow Food in the Tetons, and Treetop Adventure at Snow King Mountain. I also work with George Washington Institute for Tourism Studies team to develop Destination Stewardship Plans for iconic places like Jackson Hole, the Town of Taos, South Dakota, and the Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma.
I grew up in Colorado, but have been in the Tetons for over twenty-five years. I hold a BA from Stanford University, am the mother of two curious, compassionate, adventurous children, have a sweet dog named Willow, love to cook, and play outside every single day.
